What we do

CRO’s existence is grounded on the transformation of the life of children living on the street, their families and communities principally through rehabilitation, reintegration and resettlement interventions.

CRO employs an inclusive implementation approach that involves working with a spectrum of stakeholders including; the parents/guardians, community leaders, CSOs, Local Governments, the private sector, law enforcement personnel and other partners to advocate for the rights of children living on the street and in targeted communities’ and to raise resources to enable them enjoy their rights to clothing, education, food, health, shelter and protection.

CRO also empowers communities to be more involved in childcare and protection as well as livelihood issues, and for them to participate in various activities that include savings, awareness raising and initiating as well as managing income generating activities to address income poverty, which is a major contributing push factor.

Day and night surveys are also carried out on a quarterly basis to establish the number of part time and full time children on the streets. The causes and numbers of children on the streets are established and appropriate help is given to the children.
