Child Restoration Outreach (CRO) is a Christian founded and registered Non-Government Organization- INDP5293913NB, established in 1992 with a national perspective, and has its Head Offices in Mbale City, Eastern Uganda. Currently CRO operates four branches in four districts of Mbale, Jinja, Masaka and Lira. It has, since inception, impacted the lives of over 13,000 children and young people through rescue, rehabilitation, reintegration in families and empowerment through formal and vocational education. CRO works with the People’s Institutions in its preventive and restorative programming. The Vision of CRO is to see “Children formerly living on the streets holistically transformed into productive and responsible persons in the society” while Our Mission is “To enable children living in street situations discover their identity as children of God, reconcile them with their families and empower them to become responsible and fruitful citizens”
CRO is looking for an experienced, committed, innovative and hardworking person to fill the following vacancy at its head office in Mbale.
Position: Monitoring & Evaluation Officer
Location: Mbale
Reports to: Country Director
Salary: Commensurate with training and experience
Job Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Country Director, implement the M&E framework for assigned projects in assigned district(s) to facilitate effective monitoring, evaluation, learning and reporting of organizational results and impact. He/she will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing strategies to measure the effectiveness of programs and services. He/she must therefore exhibit excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong communication and organizational abilities.
Key Results Areas
KRA 1: Roll-out implementation of the Programme M&E framework to facilitate effective monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and evidence-based decision making on the projects
- Lead the implementation of M&E activities in the assigned district(s) as per the project M&E framework;
- Work with the district-based project officers to prepare and submit routine progress reports from assigned districts;
- Undertake regular visits to the field to monitor implementation of project activities by project staff and partners;
KRA 2: Roll out the documentation, learning, and strategic information sharing framework for the project to facilitate continuous learning and improvement, evidence-based decision making, and stakeholder engagement
- In collaboration with the district-based project officers, and project partners, effectively document and share project results and impact in assigned branches
- Organise / participate in appropriate forums to disseminate progress reports to branch-based stakeholders to ensure they keep-up with project progress, results, and impact
- Compile and appropriately integrate stakeholder feedback into project designs to foster continuous improvement of the project
- Contribute to the development of project concept notes and proposals when called upon
- Be a role CRO for effective and positive leadership which is ethical, results driven and future-oriented.
Qualifications and experience: The applicant should be a committed born-again Christian with the following Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in public health, Social Sciences, Statistics, Development Studies, or a related field from a reputable Institution with a working experience of at least four (4) years in a reputable organization. A Postgraduate training in M&E is a must. Experience in working with donor funded projects will be an added advantage. Key skills needed for this job include; planning, data analysis, critical analysis, report writing, professionalism, effective communication, integrity and team work.
