DAY GUARD/CLEANER – MBALE

Child Restoration Outreach (CRO) is a Christian founded and registered Non-Government Organization- INDP5293913NB, established in 1992 with a national perspective, and has its Head Offices in Mbale City, Eastern Uganda. Currently CRO operates four branches in four districts of Mbale, Jinja, Masaka and Lira. It has, since inception, impacted the lives of approximately 15,000 street children and young people through rehabilitation, reintegration in families, provision of vocational skills, formal education in primary, secondary, tertiary schools and higher institutes of learning. Our core programs include: Awareness and advocacy; Rescue and Rehabilitation; Education and Recreation; Health and Nutrition; and Economic Empowerment. CRO works with the People’s Institutions to prevent more children from coming on the streets and to support children already on the streets with rehabilitation, reintegration, and education.

 Position:          DAY GUARD / CLEANER

Location:        Mbale

Reports to:      Branch Manager

Salary:            Commensurate with training and experience

The Day Guard/Cleaner shall in general be responsible for the daily maintenance, care and upkeep of the office, compounds and stores. The Day Guard / Cleaner works under day to day supervision of the Branch Manager.

Key responsibilities

  1. Keep the offices and compounds safe, clean and tidy.
  2. Clean the offices and toilets on a daily basis, including windows and furniture.
  3. Ensure that the computers and other equipment are covered and protected from dust, etc. at all times when not in use.
  4. Ensure that no unauthorized persons are allowed into the compounds and offices and that they do not use any of the office facilities or equipment without the permission.
  5. Maintain an updated record of organizational guests/staff by ensuring they record arrival time, purpose of visit, contacts and departure time.
  6. Ensure that the office area is never left unattended when unlocked.
  7. Report any security threats and breakages in enclosures.
  8. Record all items into and out of organizational stores and report to immediate supervisor items that are getting out of stock.
  9. Carry out errands and take messages to places outside the office as requested by the Supervisor.
  10. Carry out any other duties assigned by the Supervisor

NON-EXHAUSTIVE LIST

  1. The foregoing list of responsibilities is not exhaustive, and the Day Guard/Cleaner may, in addition, perform such other functions as may be necessary or appropriate in the circumstances, within the authority delegated by Management.

Qualifications:

Minimum of an “O’level certificate, Pastors recommendation, guarding experience as well as good reading and writing skills.
