Contract Type: 2 year fixed term contract, the job will be full time, with hours to be worked between 8.30 am and 5.00 pm Monday to Friday. Salary: U shs PA 15,600,000. Report to: National Coordinator (Country Director), Region/Location: Mbale, Uganda.
About CRO: CRO is supporting street children (both full time and Part Time) and their families; Protect children from assault, drug abuse, diseases, hunger, exploitation through child labor, physical and emotional abuse and Reintegrate them to their families as well as strengthen their families both socially and economically. CRO operates in Mbale, Jinja, Masaka and Lira. The organization is registered with the National NGO Board in the Ministry of Internal Affairs as S.5914/667. The National Office is situated in Mbale.
We are looking for an M&E Officer for FRAPS Project. The M&E Officer will directly report to the National Coordinator (Country Director) and will be responsible for all M&E FRAPS project activities including:
1) Provide overall oversight of monitoring, evaluation and learning activities, across CRO for the FRAPS project, in order to measure the outcomes and impact of CROs work and inform organizational learning and future practice.
2) Hold direct responsibility for all MEL activities for the FRAPS projects which have an emphasis on learning and innovation through combining reintegration and prevention of separation activities and generate learning and evidence to inform future policy and practice.
Successful applicants must have:
Experience (Essential)
• Minimum of 3 years of managing M&E activities within an NGO environment
• Experience of maintaining monitoring systems which capture outcome level data
• Experience of leading learning activities to ensure M&E information is utilized to improve service delivery
• Experience of facilitating training and ongoing support to staff and partner staff in MEL activities
Desirable
Experience of working within the field of child protection
Education/ Qualifications (Essential)
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, plus additional training /certificate in statistics/monitoring and evaluation
Skills and Knowledge (Essential)
• Understanding of the functioning of monitoring systems including data collection (methods and tools), storage and analysis which promotes learning
• Understanding of how to make the most use of monitoring information to inform decision-making and learning
• Knowledge of and a commitment to child-friendly and participatory data collection, analysis and reporting
• High level capacity in using both word-processing and spreadsheet computer software, as well as database and statistical packages
• Capacity to write clear and relevant reports with a high level of English
• Strong interpersonal and relational skills.
• Able to work and be empathetic with children, families and communities from all backgrounds.
Ability to manage, motivate, develop and inspire people to perform to their best ability.
• Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
