Child Restoration Outreach (CRO) is a Christian founded and registered Non-Government Organization- INDP5293913NB, established in 1992 with a national perspective, and has its Head Offices in Mbale City, Eastern Uganda. Currently CRO operates four branches in four districts of Mbale, Jinja, Masaka and Lira. It has, since inception, impacted the lives of approximately 13,000 street children and young people through rehabilitation, reintegration in families, provision of vocational skills, formal education in primary, secondary, tertiary schools and higher institutes of learning. Our core programs include: Awareness and advocacy; Rescue and Rehabilitation; Education and Recreation; Health and Nutrition; and Economic Empowerment. CRO works with the People’s Institutions to prevent more children from coming on the streets and to support children already on the streets with rehabilitation, reintegration, and education.

Child Restoration Outreach – Uganda is looking for experienced, committed, innovative and hardworking person to fill the following vacancies for its Branches in Masaka and Lira.
Position: Social Workers (2)

Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Branch Manager, the Project Social Workers shall ensure holistic development among children rescued from street situations through provision of social, psycho-social, spiritual and economic empowerment interventions in collaboration with the care takers, targeted communities and other key stake holders. He/she shall ensure that enrolled children’s spiritual, education, health and nutritional needs are adequately assessed and addressed
Key duties and responsibilities
- Be responsible for identification of education and health needs of enrolled children
- Liaise with approved health care and education service provides for service provision to the children.
- Ensure that all enrolled children receive career guidance, have career development plans and make informed career choices
- Coordinate health camps for children at least twice in a year
- Follow-up education services institutions to discuss progress and performance issues
- Ensure every child has a career development plan which is renewed annually
- Ensure that key stakeholders are mobilized, sensitized and trained in child protection issues
- Participate in development of budgets, work plans and reports for the branch on weekly, monthly, quarterly basis.
- Facilitate formation and empowerment of community structures for child protection
- Work closely with local council leaders, religious leaders and other influential persons in the community to address the plight of street children.
- Mobilization and empowerment of key duty bearers to fulfill their responsibilities with regard to children’s’ wellbeing.
- Organize and participate awareness, lobbying and advocacy campaigns like the day of the African child
- Build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of people in addition to own team, including children, donors, managers, stakeholders/customers, other project team members, external agencies and vendors.
- Collaborate with the Branch Manager and Programme M&E Officer to conduct project performance reviews, identify successes, challenges, and document lessons.
- Contribute to the development of project concept notes and proposals whenever called upon
- Coordinate the exit process for those children that have attained goals set with CRO.
- Ensure that enrolled children’s case management files are kept updated and safe.
- Regularly update the OVC registers as and when required by the representative of the ministry of Gender labor and social development.
