On the 12th of April, organisations around the world celebrated the International Day for Street Children: a special day acknowledging the strength and resilience of millions of street children around the world.

All schools re-open in Uganda

 

Uganda went under a total lockdown due to COVID_19 in March ,2020 and as a result all schools were closed. This plunged the education sector into 
disarray and many of our children lost access t their basic right- access to education since they could not attend school not even access the 
Rehabilitation services at CRO drop centers.

60 Youth at CRO Jinja graduate with Hands-on Skills.

Ebenezer, we thank God for this far He has brought us. On the 25th November,2021, 60 youth who were undergoing vocational training at CRO Jinja were finally graduated. These youth were equipped with skills in Hair dressing and Salon management, Tailoring, Driving and motor vehicle mechanics.

 Uganda Registration Services Bureau management and staff on Wednesday,23rd December,2020 donated assorted items including food stuffs, drinks, scholastic material and clothes to Child Restoration Outreach (CRO).

Vincent Mateba’s story of Change

Mateba Vincent is a 17 year old who has spent 5 years on the streets.

He hails from Mwongot village in Sironko district. He came to the streets because his family was facing constant torture, discrimination and harassment from the neighbors who sold them land. The father had bought a piece of land and came to stay on it.

Child Restoration Outreach CRO together with other partners like Devoted Youths at Work in Africa ,Jenga, Link Child Foundation and Mbale district Covid 19 Task team have opened up an emergency drop-in center for children on the street in Mbale town.
