2019 – MayCoach Workshop Mbale

This year’s training with the teachers at Mbale CRO center, we witnessed the positive impact on the participants (teachers) as many were taken through various steps of self-discovery and actualization.

The training underscored perfectionism as one of the major hindrance to self-actualization. For many working people are stack in their SIN of professions thinking that they are superior to others yet there is room for moderation and adjustment/correction. The trainer cited out that every moment in the present is significant and important in life and in most cases one should be grateful for the moment you’re in now and be happy with it now.

Check out the video below expressing the impact on the teachers:

With the Children and Youth

As in the previous trainings, children and youths also had an opportunity to attend a two days training with a special feature where children enjoyed a one-on-one interaction with the coach and this afforded them the opportunity to express their challenges and fears in life.

Learners were also helped to understand that the priorities they make positively affect their general life if they decided well. Positive thinking was highlighted as a tool for refreshing the mind hence allowing new thoughts in our minds.

Our last day in Mbale was spent together with 46 CRO students! Using educational learning tools such as Lego, puzzles, memory games, painting and group presentations, we boosted our self-esteem, further supporting the development of cognitive-, social-, and problem solving skills! No matter where in the world you are, these skills matter?

Thank you MAY for your vibrant training early this month, I am sure the training has built me, to be what I am now. Through your teaching, you clarified on being an eagle in the chicks and indeed I am now that Eagle in the chicks ready to fly higher and higher. A sincere gratitude to you and the team for investing in us here as the staff of C.R.O, I personally benefited within my profession; I am now able to apply the training in my daily activities in the clinic. Since we deal with street children, most of them are not open enough to give the course of their illness, so the training has helped me to synchronize information from the patients for better prescription.

The training was an eye opener especially over things that used to stress me. I had been struggling to achieve or attain perfection in almost all spheres of life which kept me stressed and depressed most of the time. I had forgotten about myself and was working to please others all my life. However, the story has changed when I learnt through the training program that perfection is non-existing. It relieved me so much to learn that perfect people are not real and people are not perfect and this marked the end of the struggles and stress I had in mind. This training in some note has aided me to take fresh resolutions, take good care of myself, and also choses to give up on things that I cannot do easily. This will help me to increase my efficiency and effectiveness in attaining results over things I am good at. No more wasting time. (Tr. Peter).

This training has been a stepping stone towards many things I have been seeing has easy and simple in life. Fear had taken over my potential and it had kept me in the past. Therefore, attending the training has helped me to overcome my fears, realize my potential (breakthrough in my past experiences) and appreciate my failure in life as a learning ground instead of giving up. Indeed, the training serves us a tool to administer learning to children of CRO specially to help them identify their potential and being focused in their education and learning at large.

Testimonies from children

My name is Nafuna Sandra and I am joining senior one this year. I am so grateful to be part of the training of May coach training this year the second time. At first it wasn’t so clear to me as I never understand the all teaching, but through this years teaching, it has impacted me in such a way that fear has ceased my life. This is one of the things which lagged me behind thinking what I don’t have a voice to stand midst others specially to express myself for a certain course. Therefore, this training has helped me to know that I am valuable and have a voice to pronounce my ability to do things with my knowledge and skills.

Angella Esther is my name and very excited to Join my S.4 this year. At most this was a level of education I was so much eager to join. However, along my way things have been not good both in school and community, I used to be a self-centered person trying to fit in the society of many peers but the trainings of May coach have helped me to outstand most challenges in life instead of avoiding them. Now I can lead prayer, praise and worship and take tasks in the organization. Above all, I want to thank you so much for visiting my family and having time with us, we appreciate so much for the interaction we heard together.
