CRO Football Club is a professional football team founded in 2000 with the Mission of Developing Abilities of the former street children through Sports with the slogan The Raiders, the club is found in Mbale, one of the major towns in Eastern Uganda, CRO F.C has been an Associate of the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) since 2000 with a number of teams majoring in the FUFA Eastern Regional League, FUFA District 4th Division league, Under 16/17 FUFA tournaments among others, CRO F.C is also Registered with the Uganda Youth Football Association (UYFA) which runs all football academies In Uganda and being an associate, our academies from Under 10 years to under 17 years of age have chance to compete country wide because Youth foundation is the basis of our Talent development.
Achievements.
Since 2007, CRO has been in the Uganda’s top league, (Uganda Premier League) three times.
CRO F.C has produced players for both the male and female national teams and top clubs in East Africa. Over 45 boys and girls have acquired sports scholarships in various schools countrywide through the sports programs we conduct; this has also helped leap off some of the Tuition/school fees burden from CRO as a project, to us while helping CRO children obtain education.
Regionally, CRO as a project has been recognized in various fields more so because of sports performance, this has left a number of people think CRO does only sports despite other activities and this pride has given us courage never to give up on sports as a talent developing centre.
Sports Facility a few kilometers from Mbale town is the other achievement CRO FC secured and this ground is the CRO‘s Home for all sports. During league games, CRO F.C uses this place as the home ground commonly nick named ‘’Sansiro’’ a home where no team survives.
Career development, CRO.FC has been a career developing centre especially in the sports department, this is evident because all teams in Mbale and surrounding regions either have a player(s) who originated from CRO Academy or a coach who formerly played for CRO.F.C e.g. Katenya Ronald, CAF assistant referee among other upcoming and regional referees are our fruits. We believe CRO FC Academy is a talent development Center and that is the reason we embrace it with the two arms.
